Solutions to curricular problems are not likely to come from legislated, top-down mandates. Solutions will come from the thoughtful dialog of those who care about solving the problems:

- administrators
- school board members
- activist parents
- interested representatives of local media such as education reporters
Designed for small, self-led groups meeting at intervals of their own choosing, the series of booklets helps participants think through fundamental questions by means of casual, informal conversation.
Each conversation grows out of a brief three- or four-minute reading followed by a question. Eighteen small, shirt-pocket sized booklets contain the readings and the question. The next booklet in the series is distributed to participants at the conclusion of each conversation.
